First spray is unmistakable: juicy lychee and tart rhubarb, with a tiny pop of nutmeg threaded through. It's sparkling without being sharp — almost like champagne in scent form. Within two minutes the bergamot lifts and you start catching the rose underneath, soft and properly Turkish, not the soapy-modern rose most dupes default to.
By minute fifteen the heart is fully open: peony and Turkish rose woven together with a creamy whisper of vanilla. This is the part Delina is famous for, and we worked hard on it — the petal texture, the soft sweetness, the way it never tips into bubblegum. The dry-down at hour three is where cashmeran and cedar take over, with a barely-there incense thread that gives the floral some grown-up structure. Eight to nine hours on skin. Longer in your hair.
When to wear it
- Spring & early autumn, year-round in moderate climates
- Date nights, weddings, brunches
- When you want to feel quietly luxurious
- Heavy summer humidity (turns flat)
- Strict-uniform workplaces
- If you genuinely dislike rose
One spray on the back of the neck, one on the chest. Avoid wrists with this one — the rose-lychee combo can go a little tart if it sits in body heat too long. Layer over an unscented body cream for an extra 90 minutes of trail.
Honest comparison: Delira vs Parfums de Marly Delina
The lychee-rose-vanilla DNA, that specific glowing-floral signature Delina owns. Same elegant, modern-feminine emotional address.
The original has slightly more lift in the opening — a faint sparkle the high-priced aldehydes give. Delira softens that opening by maybe 10–15%, but the heart and dry-down are remarkably close. Projection is comparable; longevity is identical.
Used a Turkish rose absolute (real, not synthetic) for the heart, which is what gives Delira its slightly warmer rose character vs. the original's more luminous one. Dialed the vanilla down a touch so it reads sophisticated rather than sweet.
If you've worn Delina daily for years and know every shimmer of the opening — you'll notice the difference. If you fell in love with Delina at a counter and balked at the price — Delira will give you 90% of what you wanted, with a slightly softer, dryer character that some people actually prefer.
From the lab
“ Delina is one of the most copied fragrances in our category, and most of the dupes get it wrong in the same way: too much synthetic rhubarb, not enough actual rose. We sourced a Turkish rose absolute that's expensive even at our scale — and used it instead of the cheaper rose oxide most dupe houses lean on. That's the entire reason Delira's heart smells real. — Founder’s Note
Frequently asked
QIs the rose strong?
Present, not loud. Delira's rose sits in the heart — you'll catch it most clearly between minutes 15 and 90. After that it integrates into the cashmeran and vanilla. If you've avoided rose fragrances because they read "old-fashioned" to you, give this one a chance: it's a young, modern rose, not a soliflore.
QHow long does it last?
8–9 hours on most skin, longer on hair. Delina-style fragrances are known for their staying power because the cashmeran-cedar base is slow-evaporating.
QWill it smell good on someone in their 20s? In their 50s?
Yes to both. Delira is an age-flexible fragrance because the lychee-rhubarb top reads young and the cedar-incense base reads grown-up. Where you sit on that arc is mostly a matter of your skin chemistry and how much you spray.
QHow does it compare to Delina Exclusif?
Closer to regular Delina than to Exclusif. The Exclusif version has more depth in the base — a heavier oud-incense thread we deliberately didn't try to replicate, because it's a separate fragrance experience. If Exclusif is what you love, Delira will feel slightly lighter to you.
